This is probably our favorite GMRS handheld on the farm, hands-down. It's solidly built and we think it has the best ergonomics of any radio in its price range.
With USB-C charging, screen synch (so you can see both your channel name and frequency at the same time), digital and analog tones, plus tons of other features that are really easy to learn, the GM-30 is a perfect entry-level "pro" GMRS radio that you'd feel comfortable handing to grandma if needed.
Here's a rundown of some specs:
- VHF and UHF coverage, from 138 MHz to 470 MHz
- 30 channels/memory slots for transmitting and receiving, plus 219 receive-only channels for scanning
- Transmit and receive on all eight repeater channels, and can use split tones (DCS or CTCSS)
- Dual watch, dual standby, and screen synch features to help you manage one or two frequencies at a time
- High/low transmit power levels (5 watts and 0.5 watts respectively, which is great when your battery's low)
- NOAA weather channel scanning, a flashlight, menu-adjustable squelch, SOS alarm, FM broadcast receive, VOX (voice-activated transmit), busy channel lockout, and much, much more!
And here's what comes in the box:
- 1x GM-30 radio and antenna
- 1x 7.4V, 1500mAh lithium ion battery (USB-C or cradle chargeable)
- 1x belt clip which attaches to the battery
- 1x wall-plug charger with USB-C cable

- 1x manual (written in semi-comprehensible English that is factually accurate, for the most part)
NOTE that this radio can be purchased without an FCC GMRS license, but you WILL need a license in order to legally transmit on it. Also, this radio is NOT CHIRP compatible, but it does have its own programming software which you can download at the Radioddity site. Packaging may vary from what is pictured.
